Mopping removes surface dirt, but it won’t fix wear. What you’re seeing is likely mechanical damage at the surface level, fine scratches, and etching that scatter light instead of reflecting it. No amount of cleaning will restore that.
The stone needs to be honed or polished to bring back an even finish.
It depends on foot traffic and how the floor is used. In most homes, sealing lasts two to five years. High-traffic areas wear through faster. We can check the current state of your sealer during an assessment and advise from there.
Not necessarily. Limestone is often finished with a honed, matte surface rather than a high-gloss polish, and that’s usually what we restore it to. If slip resistance is a concern, we can discuss finish options that balance appearance with safety.
DIY kits rarely deliver even results on limestone. It’s a soft stone, and without the right equipment and technique, it’s easy to create swirl marks, uneven patches, or further surface damage.
